A Journalist by profession, I am presently Chief Copy-Editor with the Hindustan Times, India's leading English daily, stationed at Chandigarh. I am Bachelor in Journalism and Mass Communication (BJMC) from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh,(India).
I have no formal training in cartooning or commercial art, but had been good in drawing, painting right from childhood. Cartooning caught my attention, when I started frequenting the newsrooms during my internship. A good political/editorial cartoon, I realised, could send across a strong message to the reader in seconds, which, otherwise, would take a thousand words to describe. After joining the Print media, I realised the value of cartoons, especially those by R.K. Laxman (perhaps the greatest Indian cartoonist ever) whom I eventually met and spent three hours with him. That is and will be the most proud moment for me. The master cartoonist also drew a caricature of The Common Man. The drawing teaches me something new everytime I look at it. That's ofcourse the most prized possession I have. Hope to come up with some good work on toonpool.com.

As toonpool being the first international cartoon community, I'm always happy about the big popularity and amount of strong, interesting and valuable cartoons from all over the world.
I hope to see more of your work soon. It's very interesting to see political statements in a visual manner from your country, far away.
Best wishes,
