Ian David Marsden
Born 24.8.1967 New York City.
USA / CH
I have travelled a lot and lived, worked and studied in Zürich Switzerland, New York, Paris, Barbados, Los Angeles and Montpellier.
I have sold cartoons to magazines and newspapers internationally including MAD Magazine, The New Yorker, Nebelspalter and many more. I also draw a lot of web illustration. logos, mascots, character designs and draw, design and animate flash animation for multimedia and websites.
I work both traditionally with old-fashioned dip pens, paper and watercolor as well as with my Wacom Cintiq screen and the full gamut of modern graphics suites.
I think the digital processes today are fantastic and make our lives as artists a lot easier but I also greatly enjoy exhibiting original artwork and love the look and feel of tangible art originals.
I am one of those people who smell a new book the first time I open it, for example. Each time I see one of my drawings in print it is a new and exciting feeling in a way.
