I published my first newspaper, The Shooting Star, at the tender age of five, and have remained active in journalism ever since.
A passion for editorial cartooning developed during my senior year in high school, and I went on to cartoon professionally for several newspapers in the Pacific Northwest, including The (Everett, Wash.) Herald, The (Longview, Wash.) Daily News and The Wenatchee World. Today, the primary outlet for my cartoons is my own Web site, www.offthewahl.com, and my work also appears in several print and online publications.
My cartoons have earned several awards over the years, including first-place honors from the National Federation of Press Women in 1998 and back-to-back Citations of Excellence from the Ranan Lurie Political Cartoon Awards in 2005 and 2006.
I live in the rural metropolis of Waterville, Wash. (pop. 1,163). I've been happily married to wife Stacy for more than a decade; we have two daughters, Anastazia and Katja.
