A Morning of Mourning
By DesertPeace
On both sides of the wall today families are in the process of mourning their loved ones killed in battle. Anger, confusion, and hatred are rampant.
Confusion as to how could anyone kill a 20 day old infant in it’s mother’s arms, anger as to why it happened, hatred towards those responsible.
Confusion as to how anyone could enter an institution of learning and gun down students, anger as to why it happened, hatred towards those responsible.
Pain and anguish on both sides of the wall… would removing the wall be an option to end this madness? Would recognition of a nation totally dehumanised for 60 years be an option?? Would allowing that nation to take it’s rightful position in the family of man be an option???
I am convinced that all of the above options are the solution… bloodless and peaceful solutions. Apartheid must end… there will be no peace as long as it continues. Israel must remove it’s occupational forces from all parts of Palestine… there will be no peace until they do. Palestine’s elected leadership must be recognised by the world community and Palestine must be allowed to be a free and independent nation… again, there will be no peace until that happens.
To find the cause of the violence by pointing fingers at each other will solve nothing. The guilty parties are those that have been supporting the occupation, supplying arms to the occupiers and continuing their interference in the internal polices on both sides. Both sides must work out the solution, both sides must at least be willing to talk and end the killings.
Children have a right to grow into adulthood, families have a right to live together under one roof, the homes they live in must not be demolished…. these things are not happening today in Palestine. Children are killed while at play or while being held by their mothers. Families are divided because of the wall. Over 18,000 homes have been demolished in Palestine in recent years. There will be no peace until this all changes.
Bottom line is to END APARTHEID and GIVE PEACE A CHANCE!
