Put a Tiger in the Tank!

Those were the days when electricity came from the wall socket and petrol from the fuel tap. In the meantime even the dumbest motorist should have noticed that he is connected to the worries of the world through the hose. Anyone who wants to fill his tank, moves onto dangerous terrain, literally puts a tiger in the tank. Reiner Schwalme has translated this collapse of reality in our auto-motorised everyday life into an absurd image. We still see the hobby mechanic in his typical casual clothing – in a boiler-suit, base cap and a petrol can. But his moves are insecure and his hand searching, while two soldiers, assigned to his protection, suspiciously scans the environment. Everybody senses that the times of loyalty points at the petrol stations are over. Now it is time for the payback! Ice cold!
