Roy Eisenstein
If Roy Lichtenstein merged with Sergeij Eisenstein the outcome would be Ian D. Marsden - a gaudy blend of American pop art and socialist realism. Both are just allegations as history has proved both artists wrong. Neither was art in the Soviet Union realistic, nor was pop necessarily art just by the serial reproduction of trivial metaphors. Marsden delivers an ironic punch line to this realisation. The mixture shows: the superpowers were not that dissimilar in their perception of art. Moreover, even the arch-capitalistic real estate zombie Donald Trump could have passed for a communist politburo commissioner.
