Make way for the Olympic athletes! Diligently stooped rice farmers reap the seedlings to make room for the waiting swimmers. There is no time to loose, as the starting positions have already been occupied. Both sides - athletes and farmers – are concentrating on getting their work done for a sporting mega-event, whose abrupt preparation in terms of infrastructure are turned into a visual delicacy by the Polish cartoonist Pawel Kuczynski. The problem is, that the western world are so dependent on the cheap chines laborers, and all the things they produce for us in the west, that it tend to hypocrisy and an empty statement to boycott the olympic games.
I am not interested in sports, but am very concerned about human rights, but I dont think that a boycott will do the political prisoners any good. On the contrary, I believe in keeping the dialog alive.
But the cartoon is very funny indeed and well done anyway.
