First I want to give thanks to Carola for his sacrificial work of gathering all Desert Island Cartoons!

I definitely like this archaic cartoon topic, most of all the cognitive size of each one's microcosm.

I hope that Carola as a Desert Island Cartoons specialist could write an essay about this cartoon type...

Tough choice...
I like Junior Lopez poetic yet somewhat dirty "Tonight is the night" a lot.
GB's meta island jokes are neat too.

...y'all should listen to "stairway to gilligan's island" by the way - it's about desert islands, too.

Meiner treu! You're absolutely right, Lopez' cartoon has the romantic kitschy view of a Elisabethian 'Treasure Island' woodcut combined with a fierce commitment towards modern sexuality ~ what makes it fantastic.

is there some kind of trick to embedding pictures? I tried to, but the site only displays code instead of a cartoon...

you go to the picture you want and "right click" save the url-image location. then you paste it here in the image thingy that pops up when you click the image button. does that help?

Well, I don't wanna go too deep into the technical stuff, but in order to speed up the loading of the start page, some information like the collection data is cached and might be updated just twice a day or so.
