Enjoy the World of Cartoons

To my supprise there is hardly any gay satire is to be found on the internet, and little on ToonPool
Yes, lots of gay art on the net, sometimes even semi erotic, but no, no satire about queer issues. How come? Do gay people like to dream on about cute (wo)men.. and have less sense for satire, or humor for that matter? Are there no gay causes to fight for with help of illustrated satire?


I don't really believe that. There is lots of lesbian and gay people working in show bizz for instance, using quite a bit of spoken satire to address glbt issues. There are also tons of writers who fill entire blogs, riduculing gay misunderstandings or stereotypes, or to fight for gay rights. There are many skilled activists who use humor in writing to express there feelings and views as well. And that is why it puzzles me even more so little (political) satire in form of cartoons or illustration is produced. Not only in Happy Holland where I live, but also in many other countries you really have to search very hard for gay illustrated satire.

Now I'm set out to change that! Working as a freelance illustrator I dedicated a special web site with lots of my gay cartoons and illustrations, artwork I have produced over the years for gay magazines, sites, newsletters and posters. There is so little in that field that before I knew it, google got me top ranked when you search for "gay cartoons" despite all the erotic sex sites, featuring non-satire cartoons, basically only showing pornographic illustrations or at best erotic art.
