Gary Barker

Born in Fleetwood, England and worked as a graphic designer until going to university.

He won the BBC’s national Political Cartoon competition in 2007 and then became the resident editorial cartoonist on the BBC’s Politics Show. He has created a weekly political cartoon for them ever since and his work has been televised by the BBC and displayed on their main Homepage website and through the ‘Barker Gallery’. He has also displayed at exhibitions at home and abroad, including the Political Cartoon Society awards. His clients also include national newspapers and international magazines, for whom he has created illustrations, one of gags as well as political cartoons. He uses watercolour and ink, and describes his style as diverse.
