The director has earned a special place in Iranian cinema with notable works such as the enduring series "Uncle Napoleon" and the films "Peace in the Presence of Others," "Captain Sun," and "Paper Without Lines." Throughout his artistic career, he received numerous international awards from the Cannes, Locarno, Venice, and San Francisco film festivals, and was awarded the Firoozeh Cinema Haghighat Medal in recognition of a lifetime of artistic endeavor. His last film, "Paper Without Lines," was made in 2002, and after the "Bitter Tea" project remained unfinished, no work by him has been produced in the past two decades. Nasser Taghvaei died on October 12 at the age of 84 due to illness and old age.
