September 2006 auf DMAX ************************************************* WHO THE F**K ARE THE LUDOLFS??? Die Ludolfs – 4 Brüder auf’m Schrottplatz is a docu-soap by the German television channel DMAX. It is about the four brothers Uwe (* 27 September 1951), Horst-Günter (* 22 February 1953), Peter (* 5 August 1955) and Manfred "Manni" (* 29 July 1962) Ludolf. > In 2002, the German TV station SWR intended to shoot a documentation on Dernbach (Landkreis Neuwied im Westerwald). During filming, the mayor sent the journalists to the Ludolfs and a short portrait of the family (including the mother, who was still alive) was produced. After that, the SWR decided to produce a two-part-documentation (30 minutes each) with the title: Schrott-Brüder – Die Autoverwerter aus dem Westerwald (Junk Brothers - The car recyclers from the Westerwald). > Several private TV stations (e. g. Kabel 1 and RTL 2) broadcasted reports about the unusual family. It was DMAX who decided to produce an entire TV series about the Ludolfs. This show was so successful that on New Year's Day 2008, a 24-hour Ludolfs marathon was aired on DMAX. This marathon was repeated on New Year's Day 2009. > On 12 March 2008, the fourth season of the Ludolfs was launched. The series has also been aired in Dutch television (with subtitles), and since early 2008 on DiscoveryRussia with Russian synchronisation. *************************************************
