Italian journalist fired after question about Israel's role in the reconstruction of Gaza. The dismissal of Gabriele Nuciari has sparked reactions as well as questions about press freedom.
According to DW, during a press conference of a European Commission spokesperson, the Italian journalist Nuciari specifically asked: "You have repeatedly emphasized that Russia should pay for the reconstruction of Ukraine. Do you believe that Israel should also pay for the reconstruction of Gaza, given that it destroyed a large part of the Strip, including non-military infrastructure?"
The only response he received was that "this is certainly an interesting question, for which, at this stage, there is no answer."
Ues Vasilis, he was a source of inspiration.
