The blasting of the excavators at the lignite mines took place on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. The operation involved the demolition of three giant bucket-wheel excavators at the Mavropigi mine in Kozani, as part of PPC's lignite phase-out program.These are machines that reached 100 meters in length and 50 meters in height.
